This is my very good friend, Ryan Lowe.  My mentor and role model.  Even though we are the same age, he is easily 20 years ahead of me in life.  We served together in Bravo Company 3rd of the 160th Infantry Unit.  He has saved my life at least 4 times I can count.  I owe this man a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid.  I am thankful that the good Lord put me in his path.

MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY

I grew up very poor and we moved from family member to family member almost every year it seemed like.  I have family in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Mississippi, Kansas and Japan.  My mother and her generation worked extremely hard to provide for my generation.  We have all improved our lot in life thanks to their hard work and perseverance.  For that I am and will always be extremely grateful.

I went through my school years as most boys will do.  Fairly good grades, some sports here and there but never got into trouble.  That wasn’t my thing.  I joined the US Army while still in high school.  I joined as a Medic, much like my father, a Navy Corpsman, before me.  I was still fairly immature, but I had found my calling.  My career has spanned the world and a life time. I have been to Germany, Japan, Egypt, Israel, Kuwait, Canada, Mexico and quit a few states here in America.

I had many, many civilian jobs between my deployments, so many that I do not remember half of them.  I have been a Park Ranger, where I even discovered a million dollar illegal marijuana grow out in the back mountains of the Tejons, one summer.  I have sold shoes at Big Five Sporting Goods.  Worked nights as a store clerk while going to college in Roswell, New Mexico.  I have worked as a Security Officer and a Transport Officer many times throughout the years. At one time I Supervised between twenty-five and seventy-five employees at a frozen food plant.  I worked as the Safety Manager out in the oilfields while helping my very good friend start and grow his own company from 3 to 75 employees where he soon became a millionaire.  I struck out on my own to find my own way and started my own company, Tackett’s Technical Services.  I have bought my own home, started my own business, raised my first three children alone and invented a new product ready for production.  I have written two books, one is published-The ABC’s of First Aid Steps for Young Adults.  One is ready to be published-The ABC’s of Self Defense Steps for Young Adults.  For my two other books I have the outlines done and the books are ready to be written.  All my books are intended to assist our younger generation to be well prepared for adulthood.  I have written numerous poems, short stories and songs.  I have written a television series based upon my true-life events.  I have excellent customer service skills which I honed selling all types of insurance, such as:  Life insurance, Home and Auto insurance, Property and Business Insurance.

I have done things many people have only dreamed of.  I have accomplished feats others will never try.  I have flown in helicopters and airplanes under combat stress.  I ride horses and motorcycles.  I swim, surf, snorkel and scuba dive.  I have dove the Thistlegorm.  I have been hunting, mountain climbing, water skiing.  I have been skinny dipping, streaking and I have had lunch in Spain, been chased through the streets in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt by the Taliban and once I partied in Stuttgart, Germany for Ocktoberfest and rested the weekend in Amsterdam.

With 23 years of military experience and five tours under my belt, I have knowledge and experience known only to a few.  I have met the enemy in combat, I have been shot in the face, I was there for the bombing of Sharm El Sheikh in 2005 and assisted providing medical care to over 200 wounded while over 80 civilians died in that unprovoked attack.  I have triaged and treated the wounded in combat, I have fired all manner of weapons to include the SAW, the M60, the .50 cal, the LAW, the AT4, Vulcan 20mm and I have thrown hand grenades and set up claymores.  I have lost count of the lives I have helped save in the civilian world and in combat.  I have lost count of the awards I have received for these actions.

I teach First Aid, CPR and AED use.  I teach Self Defense and I train in the martial art of Bujinkan Ninjutsu.  I can teach HazWoper, Hazmat and OSHA classes to include new hire orientations. I am an Army Combatives Instructor and I have trained hundreds of Soldiers in Combat Livesaver courses, Emergency Medical Technician, Basic and other combat medicine (Tactical Combat Casualty Care) and also Army Combatives Level 1 and Level 2.  I am a C.E.R.T. member of Waseca and have had some NIMS training.  I love planning events, like parades, charity events, etc. You can find these events on my Facebook post. I teach Violence Prevention in the Workplace and De-escalation skills at our local hospital to the staff. I have made many great friends in my travels and I have lost many also.

I have always supported our youth, our local communities, First Responders and our beloved Veterans.  I have been a mentor and guide for our youth through programs like the National Guard Explorer Program, I am very open and honest about myself and I am just as forthright towards those I work with.  I tell it as I see it, but I do try to not be offensive when correcting someone’s poor performance.  I believe in being positive and using that positivity to help change bad behaviors to more productive behaviors.  I do not drink, smoke, do drugs or stay out late.  Nor do I judge those who do.  But if it interferes with work, I will call them on it every time.  I live by the Soldier’s Creed and the Army Values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor and Personal Courage.  After reading all of this, I am sure you have seen that I do not put up with foolishness nor do I tolerate laziness, poor work ethics and inept leaders.  I am used to working with professionals and I try to carry myself in a professional manner at all times.

Thank you for taking the time to read this short autobiography.  If you would like to know more about me you can read my works or ask me yourself.  But a little warning, I will also be asking you about your life and your ideas. I look forward to speaking to you at a later date.

Me in Iraq on COB Speicher in 2009.  I painted this mural over a 3 month span between running the Battalion Aid station, responding to the CASH when MEDEVACs came in and going on 17 combat missions.  The paint was mailed to me from home, and cost $300 to mail it back home.
